The Floating Teahouse is a storycrafting collective inspired by the Pak Tea House of Lahore and Stories We Don’t Tell of Toronto. Part-writers' workshop, part-community theater, we host monthly events in living rooms around the world. The stories exchanged here deal with those difficult elements of life that we don't usually get to talk about. They focus on, but are not exclusive to, intergenerational immigrant narratives.
I launched the collective in DC in 2019, took a pause for COVID, resumed it in Oxford in 2022-23, and am on pause again while my husband and I are on the road this year. I hope to resume it in 2026 when we move to New York - if you are NYC-based and this is up your alley, please say hi!
