An evening for neighbors to come together and learn the history and stories of their street
Hobart Street is, in my opinion, the most magical street to live on DC. It’s a leafy street with an incredible sense of community. Every year it hosts PorchFest and an incredible Halloween which attracts the best-costumed toddlers in town. In 2017, I hosted an evening for neighbors to come together and learn the history of the street, and exchange stories of Hobart life. We had neighbors come who’d lived on the street for over forty years and others who’d only just moved in, and among the stories shared that night, we learned of the Trinidadian steel band that used to live on the street as well as an FBI operation that happened years back.
