A social, cultural, intellectual gathering centered on a different talk each session
Salon DC was a regular gathering, running from 2016-2017 in DC, featuring talks and discussion on a wide variety of topics. I co-organized Salon with the lovely Cindy Sui, and the idea was first sparked by Max Song of One Salon. Topics and speakers were often sourced from community members, and the salons themselves were often hosted in community members’ homes. Talks ranged from reproductive justice, to space policy, to intersectionality, to US financial regulation (it was a very DC space 😅). The visual summaries in the images below were drawn by the marvelous Salon DC member Katherine Haugh.
